DB IdeasTrain City - Developing the future together with the 'Deutsche Bahn'

News 07/08/2021: What will a train ride look like in the future? What do passengers expect from the regional transport of tomorrow? The “Ideas Train” is supposed to provide the answer!

Since 2016, the DB Regio subsidiary (Südostbayernbahn) teamed up with passengers, a regional rail operator (Bayerischen Eisenbahngesellschaft) and a host of business partners to create a series of visionary possibilities for the trains of tomorrow. The train consists of 22 innovative themed worlds that show many aspects of travel in the future.

Combining comfort with services, the results are ideas for a customer experience unrivalled anywhere else in the world. On show in a full-scale model of a double-decker coach, the innovations form the starting point for new DB Regio trains and future redesigns.

CAPTRON develops contactless and hygienic sensor solution for door opening

The main feature of our SENSORswitches is contactless activation for door opening. Hygiene plays a major role in the field of public transport when the buttons are actuated. The contactless switching ensures that viruses and bacteria cannot spread, thus guaranteeing an even safer ride.

The switches are 100% water- and oil-proof, as well as robust and vandal-proof. Due to their many millions of switching cycles, they have an extremely long service life with minimal maintenance requirements. The versatility of the SENSORswitches allows almost universal use, up to mounting on and switching through glass, made possible by the availability of different designs, materials, connection types, mounting types, and installation depths. Moreover, matching diverse specific standards and requirements. Our fully electronic SENSORswitches offer maximum possible flexibility and individualization by the choice of different sensor surfaces, symbols and designs.
