Food industry: permanent tightening of hygiene standards

All manufacturing processes in the food industry and applications in medical and pharmaceutical technology are subject to strict hygiene requirements. Infection prevention currently plays a special role.

Manufacturing companies must ensure that all components used not only comply with current industry standards, but are also hygienic and fail-safe at the same time: The reliable operation of a machine even when wearing gloves meets both requirements. Capacitive sensor switches also stand out from mechanical models due to their particularly insensitive hardware and withstand dust, dirt, extreme temperatures or vibrations - in addition to their resistance to disinfectants, corrosion and pressure.

Being prepared for further changes

Both in private and in public, people must be prepared for the fact that rules of conduct and standards will change sustainably even after Corona. A permanent tightening of hygiene standards is to be expected in the future, which will first be put to the test after their introduction and then revised again if necessary. It is therefore worthwhile for players in industry and the public sector to prepare themselves now for the future. This includes the use of technologies that will also meet new challenges without great cost and installation effort.

Capacitive sensor technology is one example of this. A new generation of switches such as the CANEO series10 an be individually adapted for different applications. Future-proof communication systems such as IO-Link and other protocols make it possible to integrate them into networked environments and connect them to digital and analog interfaces. They also allow almost all operating and electrical parameters to be freely configured. Depending on the requirements, this can also change the tactile sensitivity and the minimum duration of actuation and reduce the risk of infection. This enables companies in critical industries to adapt to the new hygiene requirements.
